Abstracts

I tend to think in philosophical terms, so abstracts serve me well as I ponder big ideas like societal norms and challenges. Typically, I begin a painting not knowing what it will be. I spend as much time as needed playing. I play with color, textures, movement, emotion, building layers as I go. Eventually something emerges that connects with my sub-conscious; something I want to say to the world. At that point play turns to painting in earnest to tell the story.
