Application to Art in the Neighborhood

My Art

My work is predominantly abstract acrylic paintings. I tend to think in philosophical terms, so abstracts serve me well as I ponder big ideas like societal norms and challenges.

My Process:

Typically, I begin a painting not knowing what it will be. I spend as much time as needed playing. I play with color, textures, movement, emotion, building layers as I go. Eventually something emerges that connects with my sub-conscious; something I want to say to the world. At that point play turns to painting in earnest to tell the story.

Experience:

Presently I have been exhibiting at Capital Art Fair Gallery on Sparks Street. I have sold several pieces there, but I am looking to find a true cooperative that I can commit to and participate in. I have significant business experience that includes founding a not-for-profit and running it for 12 years. I have a lot of skills to put to use.

Note: When you look at my social media and website, you will notice other art forms. I do commission pet portraits, for example, but I want to stress it is my abstract art that I would be exhibiting at Art in the Neighborhood.
