Father Figure
Albert and Hubert are very different neighbours. Albert is highly opinionated and doesn’t miss an opportunity to present his unique view of things. His world is flipped upside down when he learns he has an aortic aneurysm. But stoic he is not, and proceeds to drag his entire family through his misery. Hubert, on the other hand, is loved by all because of his sense of humour and mischievous bent. It doesn’t take much convincing for Hubert to be chosen to speak at the commemoration of the new Middleton Community Centre. Except he has a problem: he can’t deliver the speech.
Act 1 and 2 visit Albert and Hubert respectively and can be performed as standalone plays. Acts are both situated in their respective kitchens.
